August-September 2012

Wow, it's been too, too long! These last two months have gone by so fast. Bryn has grown so much and Sarah is becoming quite the big sister. They love each other so much, and we often hear them laughing together. I was feeding Bryn his dinner in the kitchen this evening, and Sarah was in the living room. He kept chuckling, seemingly for no reason, but I figured out that he could hear Sarah in the other room making funny noises.
Bryn is almost 6 months now. He can sit up pretty well by himself, but still topples over sometimes. He doesn't seem very interested in crawling, yet. Sometimes he tries to reach for his toys from the sitting position and ends up diving forward and pinning himself on his tummy. I can tell he's stuck when I hear annoyed grunts coming from him. He LOVES food and started on baby cereal right before he turned 5 months. Now he has three meals a day. Cereal for breakfast, usually a fruit combo for lunch, and some sort of veggie mix for dinner. Yesterday I let him chew on a couple pieces of toast, and he loved that. If he's sitting on our lap while we're eating, he'll grab and big handful of our food. We don't dare put him in his highchair unless we are ready to feed him imediately. He lets us know that he's going to die if he doesn't have the food. He's still nursing fairly regularly throughout the day and night. He's still not a great sleeper, but is getting in to a pretty consistent routine of two naps a day and an early bed time.

Sarah is almost three now. We found out that she has very poor eyesight so now wears glasses all the time. Sometimes when she gets fed up with them she takes them off and says, "My lasses all dirty." For the most part, she's adjusted really well to them. She's learning the children's catechism and can get a few of the questions right, with a little help. Her 'go to' answer is always, "Own glory"("For his own glory"). She sometimes tries to ask us the questions, and when we figure out which question she's trying to ask and answer it, she says, "Dood(good) job."The latest big change for Sary is no more pacifiers(dummies). We warned her every day for 10 days that we'd be getting rid of them. She SCREAMED and cried for about an hour and a half last night, finally falling asleep. Tonight we had no trouble whatsoever. Phew! We were worried it would be a huge adjustment, but so thankful that the transition has been pretty smooth.

Well, enjoy all the pictures!

New glasses!

We went and visited a Harlech castle for Chris's birthday.
It was a really nice day.

If anyone notices....Sarah has chocolate on her panties....
she didn't have an accident :)
